A 3ª Bienal de Joalharia Contemporânea de Lisboa é um evento que procurará refletir sobre a forma como as joias expressam e representam a teia de relações entre os humanos e a ecologia da Terra em sentido lato. Nesta edição, debruçamo-nos sobre um tema de atualidade urgente: a nossa sobrevivência ecológica e o lugar do humano no século XXI.
Os artistas exploram espaços utópicos, realidades alternativas, combinando ficção e espiritualidade para sugerir novas e radicais formas de coexistência. Ativar o poder da imaginação é um exercício libertador de cosmopolítica, propondo ligações a outros sistemas de conhecimento, como o misticismo, a magia e as epistemologias indígenas bem como à inteligência artificial, como nova forma de organização e compreensão do mundo. Artistas e designers que desenvolvem visões alternativas do mundo, convidam-nos a repensar a forma como nos situamos no planeta. As obras incitam-nos a não perder a esperança e, enquanto humanos, a reaprender a interagir com o outro, quer se trate de outras culturas, de outras espécies ou de ecossistemas.
Questionamos o que é o mundo além do humano. Como projetamos o futuro em coexistência e interligação com os vários outros mundos paralelos ao nosso – como compreendemos a diversidade de realidades em nosso redor: mineral, microbial, fúngico, vegetal, animal, digital, espiritual e (inteligência) artificial.
The 3rd Lisbon Contemporary Jewellery Biennial seeks to reflect on how jewellery expresses and represents the web of relationships between humans and the Earth’s ecology in its broadest sense. In this edition, we focus on an urgently relevant theme: our ecological survival and the place of the human in the 21st century. Artists explore utopian spaces and alternative realities, combining fiction and spirituality to suggest new and radical forms of coexistence. Activating the power of imagination becomes a liberating exercise in cosmopolitics, proposing connections to other systems of knowledge—such as mysticism, magic, and Indigenous epistemologies—as well as to artificial intelligence as a new way of organizing and understanding the world.
Artists and designers who develop alternative visions of the world invite us to rethink how we position ourselves on the planet. The works urge us not to lose hope and, as humans, to relearn how to interact with the other—whether other cultures, other species, or entire ecosystems.
We question what the world is beyond the human. How do we envision the future in coexistence and interconnection with the many worlds parallel to our own? How do we understand the diversity of realities around us—mineral, microbial, fungal, vegetal, animal, digital, spiritual, and (artificial) intelligence?

Sobre a PIN/About PIN
Fundada em 2004, PIN surge da comunidade de joalheiros contemporâneos portugueses que, há muito tempo, ansiava por uma associação onde se pudessem criar projetos, desenvolver intercâmbios e lançar novas plataformas para uma disciplina que cada vez mais convoca o encontro com outras artes. Muitas das pessoas que dedicam a sua vida à joalharia, ao seu estudo e ao seu ensino estão presentes na PIN - Associação Portuguesa de Joalharia Contemporânea.
Como associação cultural que é, a PIN visa promover a joalharia contemporânea, acionando numa base colectiva a troca de informação e de experiências, a realização de projetos teóricos e práticos no âmbito das artes, com especial enfoque na joalharia.
Founded in 2004, PIN emerged from the community of Portuguese contemporary jewellers who had long aspired to create an association where projects could be developed, exchanges fostered, and new platforms launched for a discipline that increasingly engages in dialogue with other art forms. Many of those who dedicate their lives to jewellery—its practice, study, and teaching—are members of PIN – the Portuguese Association of Contemporary Jewellery.
As a cultural association, PIN aims to promote contemporary jewellery by fostering, on a collective basis, the exchange of information and experiences, as well as the development of theoretical and practical projects within the arts, with a particular focus on jewellery.
